"Shattered Ceiling"

Shattered belief and
Truth is loose,
Set free

Inside my voice
Soft, building
A story begins to stand
Shaky
With wobbly new knees

Opportunity knocks
As the rebel rides away
And I remain
Shy and unsure
The parts missing,
Hidden from your veiw

Feelings and opinions
Nare spoken,
Fore who was I to say,
Collaborate
To dismantle and
Create:

Exposed now
And un-stuttered.

"A Garden of Glass" - A poem from 2005 or 2006

"You Can't Take it With You"
Is a poster I see
About a play
A comedy

On a yellow poster
Posted on a wall
Or posted on a window
Sometime last fall

Or was it winter
I forget you see
Since life then seemed
A tragedy

Which blurs the lines
Of Clarity
Until one day
They made me flowers

A garden of glass, really

And Eli made me
A metal box
With blinding fire
And sprayed spit

His eyes gleamed
With a twinkle
Never to quit
And

I see on the chalkboard
In the bathroom it states
Fall down seven times
Get up eight

For this life is a tease
Of plans never followed
A spike to the core with a twist
Fragility Frigidity Transparent

Dissipating in chunks

"PURE"- a poem from 2007

Alcohol haze, I think of you
Sleepless nights
I dream about you
Orange and reds your note sing
Melancholy

Task and time scatter
Filling in-between
Swelling and squeezing
Moments
So splendid and pure

Seconds of clarity
Fade
Their lives spent
As quickly as my breath
Breaths in

Hours and nothing
Never do meet
Overwhelmed

My lips go numb
With kisses delayed

A Great Opportunity - A Fun Challenge!

A NEW & EXCITING CHALLENGE!

It's June 2, 2011 and I face a new challenge. I have a fantastic opportunity to attend the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators Conference this August in LA.

By staying focused, I will attend the conference prepared with brilliant projects, an eye-catching portfolio and ready to meet and develop career changing relationships. :) Sounds corny but it's true!

As I plan my new work schedule, I think ....there is nothing like a deadline to spur creativity to new heights! It's going to take all I can give. And I am giving all I can to make it fantastic for everyone!
So, here it goes....

THE SCHEDULE:
I wake up at 5a and go for a quick brisk walk up the outside my sweetheart house. Then, its off to my studio for a quick shower and, ahhh, a delicious cup of English Breakfast Tea.

I work in my studio at 6:15 and produce until 9:45am. My goals are:
#1. To work on and finish my documentary!!!!
#2. To fundraise the final $$$$ needed to finish and market the film.
#3. To create and finish the children book illustrations and writing that I have started.
a. The Balloon Man - Sample of three pages
b. Little Sir Echo - Dummy Book
c. Bridget Never Liked to Read - Sample of three pages
d. Black, Blue & Free - Dummy Book
e. Knight Able - Sample of three pages
#4. To create and update my websites and blogs and diligently market my work.

I head to work at 10am to 5pm. Right after 5pm, I go straight to my sweetie's place and take a quick walk up his steep hill and work for a half hour or so in his garden, (I must do my part if I am going to get to eat the delicious food he is growing). Afterwards, we can fix an awesome and healthy dinner together.

After dinner, I work for another two hours on Children Book Illustrations in his barn (a great working space I might add) and then, I end my night relaxing for a bit with a hot cup of herbal tea and bed.

By staying focused, I get five focused hours of developing the film and producing artwork a day during the week plus time to produce both days on the weekend for two straight months. It's a fantastic opportunity!

It means giving up time with my friends for a while. It means giving up coffee and alcohol for a few months, right in the middle of summer too! Yet both of these leave me feeling scattered, tired, less clear and enthusiastic. I need to be as clear and enthusiastic as I can be to give all that I can give.
IT'S TIME!
I am ready for the challenge!!!
